I haven’t worked out 3 days in a row…in more months than I can remember. But Monday I went to the gym, Tuesday I had a personal trainer session, and Wednesday I had PT. Can we say body is SORE (in a good way!). My triceps are super sore because I must have ton a trillion pull downs and dips on Tuesday. Why the trainer had me doing so much? I have no idea. Anyway, the trainer was really cool - but too expensive for my already tight budget. I will just have to kick my own butt at the gym I will soon be joining. Also, I did 2 one minute planks in addition to other ab exercises so my abs are rock solid and SORE.
At PT, I did my usual routine of leg stuff. These exercises are still awesome and my PT changes things up here and there to keep my brain from guessing what I’m doing. It’s great. We also talked about starting a jogging routine. Going to start with 12 minute intervals, 2 times a week. 2 minutes jog, 1 minute walk. I’ll let you know how that goes. :)
So I’m moving on Friday and I got the keys to my new apartment last night. I brought some kitchen items with me, and made 7 trips up and down 3 flights of stairs. Can we say my ENTIRE body is SORE! My knee was tired last night after it all - but today feels ok. The muscles in my arms and legs on the other hand are TIRED and don’t want to move! Looking forward to many more trips up and down the stairs this week - go stair master! :/
Hamstring and knee are SOOOORE due to the crappy weather outside! I am not a happy camper, and PT was hard today because of how I felt. The end. :(
It’s been 11 weeks since my surgery…wow! My muscles are so sore from PT on Monday and I was really sore tonight at my session. I just did some extra stretching because I feel like I can’t move. I think that is a good thing, but I desperately want a massage (or better yet a pedicure with a massage chair — that may be what I do tomorrow night).
This will have to be short since I have to read a case study for a class I’m in this week for work, but I didn’t want y’all to think I’d abandoned my blog. This has been yet another crazy week. a crazy MONTH! Progress on the knee is slow, but I definitely feel myself getting stronger. In fact, I’m REALLY sore all over from Monday’s PT session. My deep abs muscles are sore from planks, and my hamstrings, hips/butt, and quads are sore from various exercises. I mean it feels fantastic to be sore, but a full body massage would be nice…haha. I’ll have to update again with a few more details later this week.
After a lovely 4th of July weekend, I have returned my few, but loyal readers to update you on my progress. I had PT on Thursday evening and Friday morning last week. I did a lot of cool exercises to build my core muscles as well as my left leg muscles. And the result of these cool exercises…slight soreness in my butt and extreme soreness in my RIGHT calf muscle! OMG sore! I tried to do heel raises while away this weekend and my RIGHT (not LEFT) calf was like “OH NO I am not being worked anymore!” Haha. It was great to feel sore and to know that I’m building muscles now instead of losing them!
Walking is also becoming a bit easier, although definitely need to work on my full extension. My foot isn’t quite as sore, but still not 100%. (especially in flip flops ;) )
All in all, I feel some small progress! I still have a ways to go, but it feels great to be a little active again. My goal is to start riding my bike over the next two weeks. Nothing too crazy, but it would be nice to put my snazzy bike back to use. I promise not to abandon my blog, but this week is another busy one!
It’s been two weeks since I had my surgery, four to go until I am weight bearing! My first day in the office was exhausting! I went back and forth with my knee being propped up on an extra chair, and attempting to sit like a normal person. My knee was sore most of day, and at night I had to work to get back to zero degrees. Tuesday I worked from home in order to give my knee the rest it needs. I iced a lot and sat on the floor a couple times to make sure I could get to zero degrees. I also did my exercises twice; I really need to be doing them twice a day, but I have been slacking/tired. I’d say I’m pretty close to, if not at, 90 degrees in my bending. I should definitely be there by end of week. The hamstring bruise is also improving - I will take a pic tonight.
Last night I went out to dinner - it was great to get out of the house and people watch. The little things in life :) haha. Hopefully the next four weeks will fly by!
