progress!

127 degrees!!! thats where I’m at…just 3 away from being equal to my right leg.  woohoo!  Had PT this morning and everything felt really good.  After this week, cutting down to 2 times a week.  The wheels are in a motion towards a full recovery.  Obviously not about to go run a marathon, but I’m making good progress! :)

Oh, and I did go for a 20 minute bike ride yesterday before it got to be like 100 degrees.  I may try a trail this weekend :)

Friiiiday!

It’s Friiiiday and I’m psyched for being mobile enough now to do things this weekend!  But back to the purpose of this blog…my knee!  I see my doctor next Thursday, so my PT took measurements today…eek!

First up was the “good” knee, the right knee, which was 130 degrees.  We then tested out the left knee.  First try: 115 degrees…(not good, my PT wanted me to be at 125).  Sooo she then told me I could stretch it out or she could (dun dun dun).  I decided I’d stretch myself out and we’d do measurements a second time.  Second time, in a different position, I got to 125 degrees.  I did some further stretching, and in the same original position got to 120 degrees!  And then in the second position, got to 125!  Woot woot!  Just a little further to go!

I also did two fun basketball-type exercsises today!  The exercise consisted of spacing out 5 cones and then doing a progression towards the cones.  I did this two different ways - first in a sliding motion (so like a defensive slide) and then a slow (i mean slowwwwww) jog forwards and backwards.  So basically slide to the fist cone and back, then slide to the second cone which is past the first cone and back.  These exercises were like second nature to me and my inner basketball mind. :)

All in all a good WEEK at PT!  Gotta keep up the progress!  We’ll see how cold the pool is this weekend to try doing exercises in there; otherwise, I’ll take the bike out again. :)
