Patience is a virtue

So semi-good news from the doctor…I’m allowed partial weight bearing (10-15 lbs) for the next 2 weeks.  My doctor really stressed how BIG of a tear I had on the meniscus and how he does NOT want me to have to go through another surgery, so he is being very conservative.  He emphasized that my tear was like the maximum allowed before a removal (and transplant?) would have had to been performed (eek!).  I get it, and of course I’ll follow his orders, I’m just frustrated.  And to top it off, my mom kinda knew!?!  She said after the surgery, she asked if it would 6-8 weeks.  He told her it might be more like 8 weeks, but she didn’t tell me.  She thought maybe she mis-heard him.  ARG!  I need to install a spycam on my mom when she talks to doctors.  (kinda joking, kinda not)

So here I am, taking baby steps (literally).  Last year I talked about burning my crutches when all was said and done, which of course, won’t work since they are aluminum (unless I want to make my own fireworks or rocket fuel (hmm…)).  And it was probably a good thing I didn’t get rid of them.  BUT this year, after all is said and done, I’m going to throw them as far as I can.  Of course, I’ll retrieve them, but just to let out some steam, they will be thrown! Haha.  (And I’ll probably make it my facebook picture…so get ready…haha).

Oh and finally, no PT yet.  I cancelled my first appointment and told them I would call back in two weeks when I actually have the prescription in hand.  *sigh* my mood is comparable to the weather today: gloomy!  bleck!
